To honor the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of our Blessed Mother to Saint Catherine Labouré, Father Joseph A. Skelly, CM, initiated the first Monday Novena Service on Monday, December 8th, 1930. He used a “little Novena booklet” containing the prayers his confreres had prepared especially for this Novena. To this day, the Perpetual Novena has continued uninterrupted each Monday at the Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Thousands of attendees join us in praying this Novena every Monday either in person, via the Internet, or through Novenas prayed in parishes around the world.
